Carlos Guzman was born in Havana City, March 3, 1970. He graduated in 1989 from the Academy of Plastic Arts "San Alejandro".
Carlos is a professor of Drawing and Illustration, Costume Design and Set Design at the Higher Institute of Art in 2002, and from him Higher Institute of Industrial Design from 1995-1998, Havana, Cuba.
He is Illustrator of several youth and children's books, including one of his authorship, as well as publications and magazines. Winner of the National Illustration Award "Raúl Martínez" in 2011. His work was chosen as the image of the XXXI International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, Cuba.
He represented the Plastic Artists of Cuba and Latin America in the 4th Art Camp, Colors for the Planet, Organized by UNESCO in 2014, Principality of Andorra.
Carlo’s work was selected for display at the United Nations, NY, 2016.
He is a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
He has held numerous personal and group exhibitions from 1988 to date, has participated in several Havana Biennials and in National and International Auctions, among other art-related events inside and outside the country.
His works are in private collections as well as in Galleries and Museums in Austria, Monaco, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Russia, Portugal, the Basque Country, Brazil, Mexico, Guadalupe, Venezuela, Spain, the United States, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Slovakia, Trinidad & Tobago, Panama, France and the Netherlands.
