Vicente Hernández was born in Batabanó, Havana 1971. He is a painter, sculptor, engraver and draftsman. His themes, allegorical to his roots, have been interpreted through the screen of baroque surrealism, which in literature is named as magical realism and marvelous realism. He has participated in more than one hundred international art fairs in America and Europe. He has made about thirty personal exhibitions and around one hundred group shows around the world.
His work has been present at the Latin American art auctions at Sotheby's, Christie's and Phillips, in New York, and is featured in books, magazines, newspapers and art catalogs. He has participated and managed community projects and urban settings. He has given talks and conferences at universities in his country and in the United States. His pieces are found in important private collections in the United States, Mexico, Morocco, France, Peru, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, the Dominican Republic, among others, and in museums in the United States, Cuba and Brazil. In his fruitful career he has been deserving of important awards and mentions, he has also collaborated and supported important projects. He is a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), currently lives and works in Cuba.
